Isomerization Paper Accepted at JACS

Congratulations to Junpeng & Tatiana!  Their paper, “Single-molecule Observation of a Mechanically Activated Cis-to-Trans Cyclopropane Isomerization,” has been accepted as a Communication at JACS.  In it, Junpeng and Tatiana use single-molecule force spectroscopy to reveal an unexpected and solvent-dependent two-stage reaction sequence that is triggered by mechanical force.  The observation of solvent-dependent reaction pathways provides a rare glimpse at the coupling between mechanochemical reaction outcome and underlying physical organic reactivity principles.
